Sclerotherapy

There’s another way to achieve beautiful, vein-free legs without the use of a laser. Considered the “Gold Standard” procedure for spider veins, Sclerotherapy is a cosmetic procedure that uses injections to treat spider veins with little to no side effects and minimal pain.  A solution (usually a salt solution) is injected directly into the veins, causing the vein to scar and collapse and forcing the blood to reroute through healthier veins. The amount of time it takes to heal and the amount of treatments needed depends on the location and severity of the veins, as well as the size and amount. A typical treatment lasts 20-30 minutes with three treatments about six weeks apart, and the compression bandages or stockings need to be worn for three to seven days after the procedure.
